Injection Therapy

Admin 12-12-2023

Injection Therapy is a type of treatment that many may have heard of, but few really understand what it is and what the benefits can be. You may imagine that you will be pumped full of steroids, but we can assure you, it is nothing like that!

When people come to Cheshire’s Best Injection Therapy Clinic to see the Injection Therapy Expert, Raj Gandhi, they come because they are in pain. They come because they may have heard on the internet that this could help them. They might even come on a personal recommendation.

Injection Therapy, when done properly, can really help ease the symptoms of injured or tired joints and can restart a recovery that has started to falter.

The Steroid Injection is a corticosteroid injection (it’s not an anabolic steroid which are the kind that we have all heard of and are illegal unless you have a prescription). It is injected directly into the affected joint or area by our trained Expert Injection Therapist, Raj Gandhi and this causes almost instant relief from the majority of the pain. It is not magic and can’t make the pain go away entirely, but it does relieve any swelling of the joint. This means that the movements that you had given up on due to the intense pain suddenly become possible again. But don’t overdo it! For the full effects to be seen, you need to wait a few weeks until you are back to something resembling yourself. The positive effects of a Steroid Injections can last between 3-6 months.

We see all manner of issues at our expert Injection Therapy Clinic in Chester. The most common injections we do are for knees, elbows, shoulders, and ankles, but we do inject the other joints as well. If you are suffering from a Frozen Shoulder, Tennis Elbow, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Plantar Fasciitis, then Injection Therapy might be your best option. A short conversation with our Expert Injection Therapist, Raj Gandhi will see whether that is the case for you.

In each of your joints you have a liquid called synovial fluid. This acts as a lubricant and allows the bones to move across each other without there being any grinding or friction. If you have Arthritis or a pain that is caused by friction in a joint, then Cheshire’s Top Injection Therapy Clinic, Relive Physiotherapy would recommend you a Hyaluronic Acid Injection.

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural supplement that can help replace the synovial fluid and reduce any grating, grinding or friction when the bones in your joint pass over each other. It will help reduce the pain that you feel from any movement and you will be able to move much more freely, almost immediately.

The Hyaluronic Acid Injections can last for up to a year, so this is a great way of relieving pain in degenerative diseases such as Osteoarthritis.

All Injection Therapy can be supplemented by Physiotherapy as this will allow you to see the biggest gains and ward off the pain for longer.
